MRI and CT machines
All the available MRI machines of Ayios Therissos have strong and high-powered gradients. All of our MRI machines are harmless since they do not emit any radiation.
The CT scanner is vital for special tomographs and imaging.
The combination of the technological equipment of the three MRIs and one CT sets Ayios Therissos as the leading Diagnostic Center in Cyprus. Ayios Therissos is able to deliver the required protocols to referring doctors in order to provide them a full-fledged MRI and CT coverage.
From 1st July 2021, a brand-new Philips Ingenia 1.5T Evolution MRI machine is in operation at the medical center in Nicosia.
Due to its larger bore diameter, it is able to provide the most comfortable experience for claustrophobic patients.

Philips Ingenia MRI 3T
Our Philips Ingenia MRI 3T unit in Nicosia, stands out for the diagnosis of diseases of the neurological and musculoskeletal system and joints, covering, at the same time, every other part of the human body. It has the highest diagnostic potential, mainly in regards to Magnetic Resonance Mammography and MRI of Prostate.
Philips Ingenia MRI 1.5T Evolution
The Philips Ingenia 1.5T Evolution MRI unit has been in operation since July 2021.
It is Philips’ latest technology in the 1.5 Tesla range. It offers the most advanced MRI scans, covering every part of the human body: head, spine, chest, abdomen & pelvis, shoulder, knee, all joints and limbs of the body, and angiographies.
Its High-Definition examinations contribute to their faster completion.
Due to its larger bore diameter, it is able to provide the most comfortable experience for claustrophobic patients.
Siemens Avanto MRI 32 channels 1.5T
One more MRI unit is the Siemens Avanto 1.5T with 32 channels, which is available for our patients in Aradippou – Larnaca. Ayios Therissos is able to cover the medical needs of patients from Larnaca and Famagusta.
Siemens Avanto 1.5T is a unit which combines the highest and most advanced technologies for a 1.5T machine. It is able to scan every part of the human body.
CT scans
CT Philips Brilliance ICT 256-Slice.
The Philips Brilliance ICT 256-Slice CT Scanner is located in the Nicosia medical center in order to meet the medical needs of its patients across Cyprus.
It is the only one of its kind in Cyprus, and one of the few CT machines currently operating worldwide. It examines every part of the human body in a very short amount of time, also providing specialized examinations, such as cardiac examinations, and other angiographies (brain, carotid, thoracic and abdominal aorta and peripheral angiographies).
Following the recent upgrade on September 2021, the radiation dose has been reduced significantly and its imaging resolution has increased significantly compared to other available CT scanners in Cyprus.
